Cyber Safe Ireland – Cyber Break day

This October Cyber Safe Ireland & Permanent TSB are joining forces to launch a campaign called ‘Cyber Break’ they are asking families across Ireland to switch off their devices for 24 hours to remind us of the importance of finding a healthy balance between our online and offline lives.

They also want to use it as an opportunity to discuss our online behaviour as a family. Are we missing out on any important things by spending too much time online? Does the internet always make us feel happy? Have we had the chance to have chats with our children about how to stay safe and smart online?

CyberSafeIreland with the support of PTSB is introducing the first-ever Cyber Break day on the 16th of October They want to convey our message to as many Irish families as possible and encourage a healthy relationship for our young people with tablets, devices and digital technology.

The campaign will include:

  • An online hub where members of the public can access:

  • Specially designed pouches where to store device(s) safely away for Digital Detox Day

  • A family quiz to work out how ‘cybersafe’ your family is

  • Advice and guides to support parents, schools and kids on staying safe online

  • A fun activity list for all ages
